Nourish Body and Mind
At Daku Resort, we serve our meals at one long table and welcome all our guests to sit and eat together. Over the years we’ve heard many wonderful conversations as people have exchanged stories and got to know other guests from all over the world – Australian pharmacists, British oceanographers, German IT managers, American orthodontists, Swiss academics, Danish council employees, Kiwi social workers, Spanish wine makers, Brazilian bankers. It’s a special and important part of coming to Daku: you never need worry about being alone.
Of course, if you want to have a quiet meal on your own, you’re welcome to have a separate table or have it served in your own room.
During the yoga retreats we serve a number of meals (and are happy to have your requests – although we can’t always access the wide variety of ingredients you might be used to at home). On some nights we serve a 3-course dinner, on others it will be a buffet. We have a range of salads such as watercress with apple and beetroot, tomato with cucumber and orange, and Thai green papaya salad. There’s fresh fruit, plenty of fresh fish, and a number of vegetarian dishes such as vegetable curries, samosas, cabbage in lolo (coconut milk), nutburgers and tomato compote with roti. And let us know if you need a gluten free diet – we can do that too.
